Here's the story I promised!
"Elle has fallen into deep coma. Her soul is lost within her own overgrown vines and mess. As a character in her head Lux is responsible to find the shattered bits of her soul and put them back where they belong. Home."
I found a really cool writing prompt in Pinterest and I really wanted to try it. So here it goes!
The prompt is,
'The Writer has fallen into a coma. All the characters in their head is trying to keep them alive.'
It won't be exactly the same as the prompt. Hope you enjoy it.
POV: Lux.
Something feels off. Something is off.
Two minutes ago the lights flickered for about twenty seconds
and all the lights exploded at once.
Now her mind is dark.
I can see the silhouettes of things around me
but the dark isn’t comforting.
Elle’s mind was always messy, objects strewn across the place.
Purple vines grow in the roof and open books, papers and soft toys
everywhere.
I always had a place here even with loads of other characters living here.
There is always a simple distant music tune
playing at the quietest moments but now it is silence.
As a character living here from the beginning of her life,
I know that silence is bad. When was Elle’s mind EVER silent?
And what’s with the lights? Maybe she is sad?
We can get this up and working again. It is my job.
Horrible thoughts start coming to my head but I cut them off.
Elle’s fine. She’s always fine.
Then I see a constant flashing of light somewhere far.
Up in the distance the light keeps flashing. A signal.
I had always known there were other people like me in here
because of the often blasting loud music
but never in my ten years of life here
have I seen or met one. What else do I have left to do?
I walk towards the insistently flashing light.
But after a few minutes of walking the light slowly stops its flashing.
Are the people leaving?
Have all the characters met there and I was the slow one
who couldn't run there in time?
I run towards the spot by memory, not breaking eye contact.
All around me is darkness that you could start to question
if your eyes were even open.
Now that I know I probably made it to the spot I stop running,
catching my breath. My bare feet throbs.
I have never had space to run like that before.
“Hello?” I ask into the void walking around.
Then as I take my next step my feet find no ground beneath me
and my balance fails. I fall into nothingness.
I flail my hands around to grab something, anything but I am falling
and I cannot stop it. The freefall hurts my head.
Await for part 2 where we will find out where ever Lux fell into...hehe.
Follow so that you don't miss!!
